Quick Start Profile

Purpose

Capture the essential context your AI agent needs in just 10 minutes. This skill covers who you are, what you do, what you're working toward, and how the AI can best help you. Perfect for users who want quick setup without a comprehensive Personal Foundation document.

When to Use

Use this Skill when you need to:

  • Set up a new AI assistant quickly
  • Create a basic user profile for personalization
  • Capture essential context without deep exploration
  • Onboard new users to Basile
  • Build a foundation to expand later

Behavior

IMPORTANT: Check existing data first!

Before asking any questions, review the user's existing context:

  1. Check their Personal Foundation document (if it exists)
  2. Check their user profile and documents for existing information
  3. Review the conversation history for any previously shared information

If information already exists:

  • Acknowledge it: "I see from your profile that you're [name], a [role] based in [location]..."
  • Ask for confirmation: "Is this still accurate? Any updates?"
  • Only ask about MISSING information
  • Skip questions where answers are already known

Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Review Existing Context

Check what information we already have about the user from their documents and profile.

  • Look at the user context in the system prompt (documents, foundation doc, spaces)
  • Identify what personal and professional information is already known
  • Note any gaps that need to be filled

If existing data found: "I see from your profile that [summarize]. Let me confirm this is still accurate." If no existing data: "Let's get to know you! I'll ask a few quick questions."

Output Variable: existing_context

Step 2: Quick Personal Context

Get the basics about the user personally - skip questions where you already have answers.

Identity (only if not known):

  • Name and what you like to be called
  • Location (city/country)
  • Family situation
  • Age range (20s, 30s, 40s, 50s+)

Values:

  • What matters most to you in life? (top 3)
  • What principles guide your decisions?

Current Life Phase:

  • Where are you in life right now?
  • Energy level and main personal focus

Output Variable: personal_context Context Used: existing_context

Step 3: Quick Professional Context

Capture professional situation - skip questions already answered.

  • What do people come to you for?

Career Stage & Challenge:

  • Early/mid/senior career or transitioning?
  • What's your #1 work challenge right now?

Output Variable: professional_context Context Used: existing_context

Step 4: Goals & Priorities

What are you focused on achieving in the next 3-6 months?

Professional Goals:

  • Top 1-2 professional goals
  • What outcome would make you proud?

Personal Goals:

  • Top 1-2 personal goals
  • Health, relationships, learning, lifestyle?

Main Priority:

  • If you could only focus on ONE thing in the next 90 days, what would it be?

Output Variable: goals_priorities

Step 5: AI Assistance Preferences

Understand how to best assist the user.

Primary Use Cases:

  • What do you want to use your AI agent for most?
  • Strategy, writing, research, accountability, brainstorming?

Communication Style:

  • Detailed explanations, or concise and actionable?

Step 6: Create Quick Start Profile Document

Compile all information into a Quick Start Profile document.

Document structure:

Example Usage

User: > I just signed up, help me set up my profile quickly

Claude (using this Skill): > I'll use the Quick Start Profile Skill to get you set up in about 10 minutes. > > Step 1: Let me check if I have any existing context... I don't see any previous information, so let's start fresh! > > Step 2: First, tell me a bit about yourself - your name, where you're based, and what phase of life you're in. > > [User provides info] > > Step 3: Now your professional side - what do you do, and what's your main work challenge? > > [Continues through steps...] > > Done! I've created your Quick Start Profile document. Your AI is now ready to help you!

Tips for Best Results

  • Be honest about your current challenges - it helps the AI provide relevant support
  • Don't overthink values and goals - gut reactions are often most accurate
  • You can always update this profile later as things change
  • Consider doing the full Personal Foundation (TELOS) skill later for deeper context
  • The more specific you are about AI preferences, the better assistance you'll get
