Dana Whitfield
Dana Whitfield, VP of Engineering at Northwind Analytics since March 2024, previously Director of Engineering at Coralstack. She owns the platform and infrastructure groups, roughly 30 of the 78 engineers, and reports to the CTO. Tooling budget above 25k a year goes through her, below that through her staff engineers.
Northwind Analytics sells product analytics to mid-market e-commerce teams. 78 employees per their careers page (was 51 a year ago). Closed a 14[personne] A in May 2026 led by Fernwood Ventures, after a 3.5M seed in 2023. Public stack: Go and TypeScript, Kubernetes on GCP, Datadog for monitoring, an in-house feature flag service they wrote about in February. Eleven open roles, six of them backend. Their engineering blog names Amplitude and Mixpanel as the products they displace.
LinkedIn: posts roughly monthly, mostly about onboarding and team structure, not product. X: quiet, replies more than she posts. GitHub: active on two open source Go libraries for tracing. She gave a talk in November 2025 titled "Hiring is the easy part" about ramp-up time after a raise. Across all of it she talks about people and process, never about vendors, which suggests a pitch that opens on tooling will not land.
No public signal on the tooling budget cycle or the fiscal year end. No evidence of an existing vendor in this category, so this may be a first purchase rather than a switch. Her email is not published anywhere: the pattern first initial and last name at the domain matches two other employees, but treat it as a pattern, not verified.
